Justin Peters, LPC

Justin is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado. He specializes in OCD and PTSD treatment, and is passionate about the progress that modern, evidence-based treatments have brought about in being able to provide relief and symptom cessation for those suffering from OCD or PTSD.

 

Justin received his Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from the Boston University School of Medicine in 2022 and has practiced in community mental health, inpatient addiction treatment, and hospital settings. Prior to that, he received his Bachelor's in Psychology and Bachelor's in Religious Studies from the University of Missouri. 

Outside of his work as a therapist, Justin spends his time trail running, gardening, and spending time with his family and two cats, Benny and Noodle.

Justin received his Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine (MHCBM) from the Boston University School of Medicine. BU's MHCBM is the only accredited counseling program in the United States housed in a medical school. The program places an emphasis on neuroscience and behavioral medicine in addition to a clinical curriculum.

Justin provided outpatient therapy with the Boulder Adult Outpatient Services (BAOS) program, part of Clinica Family Health & Wellness (CFHW, formerly Mental Health Partners). CFHW is the largest community mental health organization in Boulder County.

Justin completed his yearlong internship providing inpatient therapy with Eastern Middlesex Alcoholism Services, a residential treatment center for individuals recovering from Alcohol- and Substance- Use Disorder and co-occuring mental illness.

Justin completed his first-year practicum providing group therapy and group facilitation with St. Elizabeth's Comprehensive Addiction Program, a dual detox and intensive-outpatient program in St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston, MA.
